Surat, October 17, 2025: In the festive spirit of Diwali, White Lotus International School organized a week-long celebration filled with creativity, confidence, and expression through a series of engaging competitions tailored for students of all age groups. The event aimed to encourage students to conquer their stage fear, step into the limelight, and develop essential life skills beyond the classroom. With the message “This Diwali, let’s be fearless and clear our stage fear,” the school promoted self-belief, communication, and personal growth—qualities necessary for becoming future-ready individuals.
The celebrations began with the youngest learners in the pre-primary section participating in a joyful storytelling competition. These little ones, dressed in colorful costumes and full of excitement, took to the stage to narrate their favorite stories. With the help of props, expressions, and enthusiastic delivery, they brought tales of animals, festivals, and morals to life. It was a heartwarming moment to witness such young children confidently express themselves before an audience, setting the tone for the rest of the week.
The primary section followed with a poetry recitation competition that saw students perform verses in English, Hindi, and Gujarati. From classic rhymes to original compositions, the children displayed a remarkable sense of rhythm, diction, and expression. Each performance reflected their growing love for language and their ability to convey emotion through verse. Teachers praised the students for their clarity, memorization, and the confidence with which they held the microphone—many for the first time.

For the middle school students, an elocution competition provided a platform to express their views on a variety of thought-provoking topics. Students spoke on subjects such as “The Importance of Self-Confidence,” “Digital India,” and “Clean Environment, Green Future,” demonstrating not only their public speaking skills but also critical thinking and awareness of social issues. The event highlighted how well-prepared and articulate the students have become, with many delivering their speeches with powerful voice modulation, appropriate gestures, and eye contact. It was evident that the school is nurturing students who can speak with conviction and lead with confidence.
The senior secondary students concluded the celebration with a highly competitive quiz competition. Divided into houses, students faced off in multiple rounds covering current affairs, science, history, logical reasoning, and general knowledge. The excitement and intensity in the room were palpable as participants displayed quick thinking and teamwork. A special Diwali-themed round added a cultural touch to the event, testing their understanding of traditions, festivals, and Indian heritage. The quiz not only sharpened their intellect but also fostered a healthy spirit of competition.
Throughout the week, the atmosphere at White Lotus International School was electric with enthusiasm, applause, and encouragement. The school’s principal -Mrs Purvika Solanki shared heartfelt words, stating, “Diwali is the festival of light, and we believe every child has a light within them that deserves to shine. These events are not just competitions; they are opportunities for our students to grow, face their fears, and learn the importance of expression, confidence, and courage. We are immensely proud of every child who came up on stage and gave their best.”
Parents, teachers, and students alike appreciated the initiative and its impact. Many parents expressed their joy at seeing their children perform with such confidence, while teachers highlighted how these experiences contribute significantly to students’ all-round development. The week-long celebration successfully achieved its goal of helping students overcome their inhibitions and become more comfortable in presenting themselves before others.
As the school prepares to celebrate Diwali, it does so with a deeper message—encouraging students not just to light lamps at home, but to light up their own inner potential. With the powerful message, “Let’s be fearless, let’s clear our stage fear, let’s be more confident, more joyful, and a better version of ourselves,” White Lotus International School continues to uphold its vision of preparing students for a brighter, bolder, and more meaningful future.
