Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], November 26: The Gujarat Council of Science City celebrated World Science Day for Peace and Development in an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm. Hon’ble Minister Shri Arjun Modhwadia, Minister for Science & Technology, Forests, Environment and Climate Change, Government of Gujarat, marked his special presence on the occasion. Science City’s Executive Director, Shri Vimal Patel, was also present and inspired the audience with his encouraging presence.
At the beginning of the program, Shri Modhwadia launched the DIY STEM Kit designed for Class 9 students in line with their curriculum and also unveiled the International Year of Quantum Science 2025 booklet. In his address, the Minister highlighted the importance of World Science Day, stating that science is a fundamental pillar of peace and development. He discussed in detail the remarkable scientific progress achieved globally, including in India and Gujarat. He also spoke simply and engagingly about advancements in emerging fields such as Quantum Science and Artificial Intelligence.

During the interactive session, the Minister enthusiastically responded to science-related questions from students and teachers across various schools, offering explanations in an easy-to-understand way. Encouraging the development of a scientific temper among children, he emphasised that Gujarat is emerging as a leading state in research, innovation, and science communication.
Before the program, Shri Modhwadia visited the Science City campus, where he toured several major attractions, including the Aquatic Gallery and the Astronomy and Space Science Gallery. He appreciated the science-based exhibits, infrastructure, management, and overall functioning of Science City.
At the conclusion of the program, he interacted with the students, learning about their curiosity and interest in science. He encouraged them to contribute to the nation’s progress through innovation and discovery in science.
Organised by the Gujarat Council of Science City, the event saw enthusiastic participation from over 500 students, teachers, science enthusiasts, and visitors.
