Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], November 28: DreamZone, the creative education division of CADD Centre, hosted the grand finale of ANIGRA’24, its flagship annual event dedicated to celebrating the exceptional talents of emerging digital creators and short filmmakers. Held at The Park, Nungambakkam, Chennai, the event brought together a vibrant showcase of creativity and innovation across short films, animation, and creative advertising. With participants representing schools, colleges, and DreamZone centres from across India, ANIGRA’24 underscored DreamZone’s commitment to nurturing talent and fostering imaginative expression in the digital arts.
The grand finale of ANIGRA’24 was a vibrant celebration, spotlighting the creativity of finalists while hosting thought-provoking addresses by esteemed guests and insightful sessions from industry leaders. Among the highlights was an address by Mr. Mahesh Ganguly, Director of Animation at Phantom FX, who was the Chief Guest. He captivated the audience with cutting-edge VFX and AI-driven visuals from blockbuster films Jailer and Leo, featuring superstar actors Rajinikanth and Vijay. Adding to the grandeur, the Guest of Honour, Mr. Sarathkumar N, Director of Education & Skilling at ABAI, delivered an inspiring speech on the critical role of adaptability and skill development in shaping student success.
The event was further enriched by guest speakers who shared unique insights into the industry. Mr. Senthil Nayagam, Founder of Muonium Inc, demonstrated the transformative power of AI in recreating classic films and producing innovative content. Sessions by Ms. Archi Jain, Founder of Archistry Designs, and Mr. Nassar John Milton, Creative Director of Tag, provided valuable creative perspectives. The excitement reached its peak with the exclusive trailer screening of the much-anticipated film Narkarappor, directed by Shree Vetri, leaving the audience thrilled and inspired.
The winners of ANIGRA’24 showcased exceptional talent across various categories. In the School Short Film category, Addiction by Anish Johan Daniel & Team claimed the prize of ₹25,000 for Best Storytelling, while in the College Short Film category, Chalanam by Shailesh M earned ₹25,000 for Best Cinematic Achievement. Among DreamZone participants, Breaking the Silence by Sharath was recognized for Excellence in Short Film with a prize of ₹25,000, and Origin by Siraj won ₹10,000 for Excellence in Animation. Other notable winners include Arwa and Lithika, who excelled in the Creative Advertisement category, and Abijith, who received special recognition for Best Creative Reel in the Social Reel category. The winners embodied the creativity and innovation that ANIGRA’24 aims to celebrate.
