Language Acquisition Session for Parents and Teachers Fostering Stronger Language Skills Through Home-School Partnership

A Language Acquisition Session was successfully conducted on Saturday, 26th April 2025, for parents of Classes 1 to 4 at GD Goenka International School, Surat. The session was led by our most experienced subject experts — Ms. Suverchela Kashyap for English and Ms. Kamna Gupta for Hindi — with the aim of strengthening the collaboration between home and school in nurturing effective language learning.
The session focused on English and Hindi as core academic subjects and aimed to equip parents with meaningful strategies to enhance their children’s language development both at school and at home.
Objectives of the Session:

1. Strategies to enhance English and Hindi learning as academic subjects.
2. Practical tips for parents to support English language acquisition at home.
3. Introduction to the English Curriculum and Resources.
4. Overview of the English and Hindi subjects, including book induction.
5. Understanding the critical role of language skills in building communication, confidence, and critical thinking.
   In addition to the parent session, dedicated training was also organized for English and Hindi teachers, enabling them to implement best practices in language instruction and reinforce classroom learning.
   The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where parents enthusiastically shared their queries and experiences, making the session engaging and impactful.
   The event was conducted under the continuous guidance and support of our Director Principal Mrs. Jayshree Choraria, Primary Section Coordinator Ms. Shilpa Surya and Hindi HOD Ms. Snehalata Upadhyay.
   It was a truly enriching experience for all participants, furthering our shared commitment to holistic and effective language education.
