Surat: December 24: A spiritually elevating and intellectually enriching Tulsi Pooja was solemnly celebrated on 24th December at the prestigious New Model Public English School, located near Mansarovar Society, SMC Lake, Dindoli, Surat. The event transformed the school campus into a serene centre of devotion, reflection, and ecological awareness.
The celebration commenced with soulful bhajans and kavitas dedicated to Tulsi Mata, beautifully recited by the students, creating an atmosphere filled with devotion and purity. The sacred ambience was further enhanced as shlokas from the Puranas and Upanishads were melodiously chanted, connecting young minds to the timeless wisdom of Indian spiritual heritage.
A significant highlight of the program was the collective “Vruksh Raksha Sankalp”, where students pledged to protect trees and nurture nature, reinforcing the message that reverence for Tulsi is, in essence, reverence for life itself. The entire event unfolded as a truly divine moment, leaving a lasting spiritual imprint on everyone present.

The esteemed Principal, Mr. Rana Janardan, illuminated the occasion by sharing profound insights on the relevance of Tulsi Pooja in contemporary times. His thoughtful address seamlessly bridged tradition with modern environmental responsibility, inspiring students to become conscious custodians of nature.
Tulsi Pooja holds multidimensional significance. Scientifically, Tulsi is known for its remarkable medicinal properties, purifying the air and strengthening human immunity. Historically and mythologically, Tulsi is revered as a sacred manifestation of devotion and purity, deeply rooted in Indian scriptures and folklore. Psychologically, rituals like Tulsi Pooja foster inner peace, mindfulness, and emotional balance. From an ecological perspective, Tulsi symbolizes harmony with nature, reminding humanity that environmental protection is a sacred duty, not merely a choice.
The celebration at New Model Public English School was not just a ritual, but a meaningful dialogue between tradition, science, and sustainability. It powerfully conveyed that when culture nurtures consciousness, education becomes transformative.
