Surat, July 2025: In a vibrant display of innovation and environmental awareness, White Lotus International School recently organized a hands-on activity titled “Trash to Treasure”, aimed at nurturing creativity and instilling the values of sustainability among its young learners.
Students from various grades enthusiastically participated in this engaging initiative, which encouraged them to reuse and repurpose discarded items to create something new, useful, or decorative. From old newspapers and plastic bottles to cardboard, broken toys, and fabric scraps — what many consider trash was transformed into imaginative creations and purposeful art pieces.
This unique activity provided students not only a platform to express their artistic talents but also taught them the importance of reducing waste, recycling materials, and thinking sustainably. Guided by their teachers and mentors, children demonstrated how even the simplest idea can be turned into something extraordinary when combined with thoughtfulness and effort.
Speaking about the initiative, Principal Mrs. Purvika Solanki shared,
“At White Lotus, we believe in shaping future-ready citizens who are both creative and conscious of their responsibilities toward the planet. ‘Trash to Treasure’ was more than an art activity — it was a powerful lesson in innovation, resourcefulness, and sustainability.”
The event was filled with excitement, joy, and pride as students showcased their final products with confidence and shared the inspiration behind their creations. The activity left a lasting impression, reminding everyone that great ideas often come from the simplest things — and that every child holds the power to create change.
